Accurate Visibility Measurement
Calibrated against high-precision transmissometers and utilizing the proven forward scatter measurement principle to determine Meteorological Optical Range (MOR). The sensor's optical design offers excellent contamination resistance: the optics face downward, and the protective hood shields the lens from precipitation, splashing, and dust. This all-weather design helps ensure accurate measurements.

Versatility
The structural design of the PWD50 allows for easy and low-cost integration into existing or new systems. The sensor can be mounted on existing masts in various ways. Electrical connections are made with a single cable. Additional options further enhance versatility, such as masts, various mounting adapters, power cabinets, and modems for long-distance communication.

Excellent Durability and Reliable Performance
The downward-facing sensor hood effectively protects the optical surfaces from contamination, reducing maintenance needs and associated costs. An optional hood heater prevents the accumulation of ice/snow on the optical path.
